Chef Masayuki Okuda: Among the World’s Top 1000 Chefs
Born in Yamagata Prefecture in 1969, Chef Masayuki Okuda inaugurated the “Al Ché-cciano” restaurant in Tsuruoka City back in 2000. Since 2004, he has proudly served as an ambassador for Shonai, a region in Yamagata Prefecture renowned as the food capital of Japan. His culinary prowess garnered global recognition when he was honored as one of the “1000 Chefs of the World” at Terra Madre 2006, an esteemed event in Italy celebrating socially conscious cuisine.
In 2020, Chef Okuda clinched the prestigious “Commissioner for Cultural Affairs Award”, a testament to his significant contributions to promoting Japanese food culture.
