You might be under the impression that Awaji Island is distant from Tokyo, which is true, but there are several transportation options available to reach the island located in the same Kansai area, including Osaka, Kyoto and Nara. The Shinkansen and flights are the quickest modes. Once you are in the Kobe area, you are already close to Nijigen no Mori, only a 30-min drive/a ride on an express bus.
