From June 1st to August 31st, 2025, The limited summer afternoon tea will be offered at Restaurant Tamatebako in the media art and restaurant “HELLO KITTY SMILE” on Awaji Island.
The afternoon tea will be centered around desserts made with plenty of sweet and fresh fruits that are perfect for summer, and will be sprinkled with cute Hello Kitty decorations.
Summer Limited Afternoon Tea
The new Hello Kitty Tamatebako Afternoon Tea is filled with sweets that fill your mouth with the taste of seasonal fruits, carefully prepared by the chef. There will be a lineup of sweets created by chefs using their skills.
- Upper row: Passion panna cotta with blue cura so jelly / Lemon macarons / Mango Daifuku / White peach tart / Berry roll cake / Tricolored dumplings / Ribbon Monaka
- Middle row: Mango/pineapple/kiwi/orange/pink grapefruit/strawberry
- Lower row: Hello Kitty Inari/grilled corn/cherry tomatoes pickled in sweet vinegar
These include the “Lemon Macaron”, which has a refreshing lemon flavor, the “White Peach Tart”, which uses plenty of peaches, and the “Berry Roll Cake”, which is luxurious with sweet and sour berry sauce and rich sweet cream.
Sweet and juicy fruits such as lemon, mango, pink grapefruit, and peach are used in abundance. Each three-tiered plate is topped with Hello Kitty’s Inari and Hello Kitty’s Ribbon Monaka, making it colorful and cute.
You can spend a blissful tea time while eating Hello Kitty’s afternoon tea in the store where the world of Hello Kitty spreads out.

HELLO KITTY SMILE has two restaurants and a media art area that depicts a fantastic Ryugu Castle where Hello Kitty wearing Otohime’s costume and sea creatures come and go. At the restaurant, you can enjoy healthy single-pot dishes made with ingredients sourced from Awaji Island, fresh seafood grilled from the Seto Inland Sea, and dim sum while looking out at the Harimanada Sea.
Restaurant Tamatebako is a hideaway restaurant for adults where you can enjoy gozen meals and solo hot pots made with carefully selected Awaji and domestic ingredients. There is also plenty of cafe time where you can enjoy latte art and afternoon tea, and the open and dignified space is the perfect place to take a breather.
In addition, a restaurant greeting event where Hello Kitty comes to the restaurant at 12:00 and 17:00 is currently being held. You can take cute photos with Hello Kitty.
