Itinerary From Tokyo to NIJIGEN NO MORI

8:30 a.m. Board Nozomi 17 (bound for Hakata) from JR Tokyo Station

Board the Shinkansen and head to Shin-Kobe Station! The ride takes about 2 hours and 45 minutes, so you can have breakfast with an ekiben (meal box you can purchase at the station) or use the time to sleep! But be careful not to oversleep! It’s convenient to transfer at the Shin-Kobe Station, if you’re in a car closer to the center!

11:14 a.m. Get off at Shin-Kobe Station and Transfer to the Kobe Municipal Subway

After getting off at Shin-Kobe Station, transfer to the Kobe city subway. The Shinkansen ticket gates are on the second floor, and after exiting the ticket gates, go down the stairs you see ahead on your left, then follow the signs. It’s a 2-5 minute walk to the subway station!

11:27 a.m. Board the Municipal Subway (towards Seishin-Chuo)

It’s only one stop (2 minutes!) to Sannomiya Station. We recommend you sit in the rear car. It will make it easier to transfer at Sannomiya Station.

11:29 a.m. Get off at Sannomiya Station, Exit the Ticket Gate and Head to Shinki Bus Kobe Sannomiya Bus Terminal

After arriving at Sannomiya Station, head to ground level from East Exit 3. Go through JR Sannomiya Station and head to the bus company’s terminal, “Shinki Bus Kobe Sannomiya Bus Terminal” (5 minutes on foot). For detailed directions to the terminal with photos, please refer to the article below!

12:15 p.m. Board the Kita-Awaji West Coast Line (towards Awaji Island)

After arriving at the bus terminal, please purchase a ticket for the 12:15 express bus. You can also use your transportation IC card. Board the bus for a relaxing 40-minute trip!

12:58 p.m. Get off at Awajishima Prefectural Park (NIJIGEN NO MORI F Parking Lot)

Once you pass through the gate in front of the bus rotary, you are finally at NIIJGEN NO MORI! You’ll see characters you’ve seen and music you’ve heard before! We are sure that you will be so excited.

Itinerary for NIJIGEN NO MORI “Dragon Quest Island”

1:05 p.m. Refuel (?!) at “Luida’s Tavern”

Once inside the park, just go straight down the main street and you’ll see a giant slime and Onokogard Castle ahead of you on your left. However, if you’re up early in the morning, you should fill your stomach before starting your adventure! Continue along the main street and you’ll see the restaurant “Luida’s Tavern” ahead of you on your left. Enjoy the world of “Dragon Quest” with our limited menu!

2:00 p.m. An Audience with the King! Check-in at Onokogard Castle!

Once you’ve finished your meal, you’re all set to start your adventure! Return to Onokogard Castle, which also serves as the attraction reception desk, and once you’ve completed the necessary paperwork, you’ll finally have an audience with the King. Please be careful not to be rude!

2:05 p.m. Set off on a Great Adventure to Save the World from the Demon King Zoma!

After the audience with the King, the epic adventure finally begins! Estimated time to complete the main quest is 2 hour to 2 hours and a half. It is an incredibly immersive experience! Explore every corner of the town of Onokogard and battle monsters in the forest area. The world of Dragon Quest, which was previously only on screen, will unfold before your eyes in a real world!
*This is only an estimate of the time if you can experience the experience smoothly. Please note that there may be additional waiting times during busy seasons such as spring break and Golden Week.

5:00 p.m. A Mountain of Treasure Awaits You! Check Out the Merchandise at the Shop at the Finish Line!

For all the “heroes” who saved the world, a shop packed with NIJIGEN NO MORI-exclusive Dragon Quest goods offer perfect rewards to congratulate you! Purchase some fun merchandise and keep a unforgettable memory of your great adventure!

5:45 p.m. Try your luck at the Lottery Special!

Once you’ve purchased your original goods, it’s time for your final test of luck! Draw a NIJIGEN NO MORI exclusive “Lottery Special” ticket at the “Lottery Shop” in front of Onokogard Castle. The Onion King air lottery machine alone is worth a visit!

Itinerary from NIJIGEN NO MORI Back to Tokyo

6:40 p.m. Board the Kita-Awaji West Coast Line (towards Kobe)

You will need to board the bus at the same bus stop (NIJIGEN NO MORI F Parking Lot) you got off when you arrived. Again a bus ride to Kobe Sannomiya is approx. 45 minutes if there is no traffic!

7:24 p.m. Get off at Shinki Bus Kobe Sannomiya Bus Terminal and Transfer to the City Subway on Foot

The bus stop you need to get off is the final stop at the same bus terminal you boarded in the morning, so there’s no need to worry about oversleeping! If you bought exclusive Dragon Quest goods at NIJIGEN NO MORI, make sure not to leave it in the bus. After getting off the bus, go back the same way you came in the morning and transfer to the Kobe Municipal Subway! It’s roughly 3-minute walk.

7:37 p.m. Board the Municipal Subway (towards Tanigami)

On the way back, take the Kobe Municipal Subway in the opposite direction (towards Tanigami) and it’s just one stop and two minutes away! This is a time when you’ll probably be tired, so be careful not to oversleep and be careful not to leave anything behind!

7:39 p.m. Get off at Shin-Kobe Station and Proceed to the Shinkansen Ticket Gate

After getting off the subway, go back the way you came to JR Shin-Kobe Station. Take the underground passage and the long escalator to the Shinkansen ticket gate, and then walk for 5-6 minutes.

7:45 Shop for Kobe Souvenir!

If you want to buy souvenirs other than “Dragon Quest Island”, we recommend “Entre Marche” located in front of the Shinkansen ticket gate inside the station. It is a fairly large store that combines a convenience store and a souvenir shop, and has a wide selection of products. It is the best place to buy souvenirs for family and friends, when you don’t have too much time. Inside this “Entre Marche”, there is also “Kobe Franz”, which is famous for delicious puddings! You should also buy something to eat in the train. Shinkansen stopped the food cart services sometime ago. The shop is open from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

8:34 p.m. Board Nozomi 60 (Tokyo Bound) from JR Shin-Kobe Station

The fun trip is about to come to an end. Your fatigue is about to reach its peak, so it’s time to relax and enjoy the rest until you reach the final destination. The return journey by Shinkansen takes about 2 hours and 45 minutes.

11:12 p.m. Arrive at JR Tokyo Station

This concludes our whirlwind tour! How was your day at “Dragon Quest Island”? After this, you will still have to travel to your home, so be sure not to miss the last train!
