Among the notable events is Anime Japan, the largest anime expo in the country. The upcoming Anime Japan 2024 is scheduled for March 22nd and 23rd at the renowned Tokyo Big Sight.

What is Anime Japan 2024?

Anime Japan, Japan’s largest annual anime expo event, is held at Tokyo Big Sight in the Odaiba area. Featuring over 150 anime-related companies and having more than 150 booths, the event attracts almost 200,000 visitors each year. Anime Japan 2024 is back, with this year’s catchphrase being ‘New Era of Anime (Anime Shinjidai – アニメ、新時代).

With the event’s slogan being ‘Everything about anime is here’ (anime no subete ga, koko ni aru), Anime Japan 2024 aims to offer visitors a comprehensive anime experience. Media companies like Aniplex, Kadokawa, Avex, NBC Universal, and others will present their popular, ongoing, and upcoming anime-related exhibits (art, statues, panels, and more). Animation studios will exhibit booths highlighting animation art and the behind-the-scenes process of creating specific anime scenes.

Manufacturer companies, such as Good Smile, will unveil new and unreleased figurines. Additionally, specific anime will have dedicated booths. Although referred to as ‘booths’, they feel more like designated areas where each company showcases its exhibits, with larger companies having more extensive areas.

The event presents a fantastic opportunity for anime fans to delve deeper into their favorite anime, explore upcoming releases, and acquire exclusive goods available only at Anime Japan. Each company invests significant effort and creativity into crafting its booths, ensuring a unique and immersive experience for visitors.

Anime Japan 2024 Talk Show Stages

If you want to learn more about your favorite anime, explore new series, or watch your favorite voice actors/actresses (seiyuu), then the stages at Anime Japan are perfect for you. There are nearly 50 official Anime Japan stages, each lasting almost an hour and divided into specific time frames. The major media companies mentioned earlier also host their stages, adding to the excitement with multiple talk show stages happening concurrently.

Anime Japan 2024 also includes a cosplay area, perfect for capturing photos of cosplayers or trying out cosplay yourself. Additionally, there is an area with numerous booths selling anime collaboration food. With an array of exciting features, it is a must-attend event for anime fans, promising an amazing experience at Anime Japan 2024.

You might be under the impression that Awaji Island is distant from Tokyo, which is true, but there are several transportation options available to reach the island located in the same Kansai area, including Osaka, Kyoto and Nara. The Shinkansen and flights are the quickest modes. Once you are in the Kobe area, you are already close to Nijigen no Mori, only a 30-min drive/a ride on an express bus.
