Review performance “Dancing Sounds of the Hometown – Furusato Neo Japonism -” at Naminoritei in SEIKAIHA

From Saturday, March 22, 2025, the revue performance “Dancing Sounds of the Homeland – Furusato Neo Japonism” will be performed at the theater Naminoritei in the Awaji Island theater and restaurant SEIKAIHA, which traces the trajectory of “Takadaya Kahei”, a shipping agent from Awaji Island who contributed to the development of Ezo.

Review performance “Dancing Sounds of the Hometown – Furusato Neo Japonism -“

The revue performance uses music and dance to trace the journey of Kahei Takadaya, a shipping merchant from Awaji Island who contributed to the development of Ezo as a shipping merchant.

Twelve songs that have been passed down throughout Japan since ancient times, such as Oita Prefecture’s “Kojo no Tsuki”, Kumamoto Prefecture’s “Tabarazaka”, and Shimane Prefecture’s “Yasugi Bushi”, will be arranged in modern styles such as Latin and jazz.

Folk songs from all over Japan will be brought together like a world’s fair. This is an original dramatic show that rediscovers the charm of Japan. You can enjoy folk songs that are a little different from the usual ones.

The work will be written, directed, and choreographed by Juei Xie, one of Japan’s leading production and choreographers who is a former member of the Takarazuka Revue and has directed productions for Takarazuka Revue and Shiki Theater Company.

Kenji Sakamoto, who played the first role of Simba in Shiki Theater Company’s “The Lion King,” as well as local revitalization entertainers active on Awaji Island and Ongakujima members, will perform with representative folk songs from all over Japan.
