Escape the ordinary and immerse yourself in the beauty of Japan’s seasonal culture with a hands-on culinary experience at Awaji Nature Lab & Resort. Discover the deep connection between Japanese cuisine, nature, and sustainable living in a setting surrounded by lush fields and ocean air.
This workshop begins with an interactive talk led by Evelina, a cultural expert and university lecturer, exploring the tradition of seasonality (shun) in Japanese food culture, the roots of local farming, and the philosophy of sustainable agriculture. Learn how the Japanese way of eating is intimately tied to nature’s rhythm.

After the lecture, you’ll head to the resort’s farm to gather seasonal ingredients, connecting with the land through touch, scent, and the joy of harvesting.
Then, return to the kitchen for a 1.5-hour cooking class, where you’ll create two dishes inspired by Awaji Island and Japan’s rich culinary heritage. Guided by Priya, a chef, with three-Michelin star experience, and nutritionist, this hands-on session invites you to engage all five senses and enjoy your creation in a relaxed, scenic setting.

To wrap up the experience, you will come together and enjoy the meal you’ve prepared, share impressions, and connect over good food in a warm atmosphere.
Whether you’re a foodie, nature lover, or just looking for a new kind of escape, this workshop offers a unique taste of Japan’s slow living philosophy.
