Honey Café/Pizzeria with One of the “Top 100 Sunsets in Japan” Reopened!
miele, meaning “honey” in Italian, is known for its dishes and desserts made with fresh, local ingredients and honey produced on Awaji Island.
The popular restaurant reopened on July 11, 2025. The honey-themed café now features new indoor seating on the second floor that makes the most of its seaside location. The walls of the restaurant are made out of window panels that ensure 360° views regardless of weather and can be folded away to enjoy the open air and sea breeze on sunny days.
Terrace seating is also available on the third floor with a view of the Harimanada Sea.
It’s the perfect place to have a casual bite to eat and enjoy the magnificent view of the west coast of Awaji Island. The views of the sunset are especially amazing, being selected as one of the "Top 100 Sunsets in Japan."
Try the popular pizza topped with the local delicacy of steamed fish known as "shirasu" (whitebait) that is piled on until you say "Stop!" Other menu items include “Limone Formaggi,” a sweet pizza using honey lemon and Italian “Grana Padano” cheese, “Roman-style Carbonara with Kitasaka Eggs,” using eggs from the local “Kitasaka Chicken Farm,” “miele's Homemade Tiramisu,” made with local egg yolk and honey for a subtle sweet taste, and many more. All of the menu items feature the charm of locally harvested ingredients and locally caught seafood.
Enjoy one of the delicious dishes on the open seating overlooking the sparkling water of the sea.
