HELLO KITTY SMILE, a Hello Kitty facility on Awaji Island, is now offering “Hello Kitty’s Strawberry Afternoon Tea,” decorated with cute Hello Kitty, featuring desserts made with an abundance of sweet, fresh strawberries, such as strawberry rare cheese cake and strawberry mini roll cakes.
HELLO KITTY SMILE on Awaji Island is a Hello Kitty-themed facility with multi-media galleries and restaurants. At the multi-media galleries that are divided into eight areas, you can explore a world inspired by Japanese folklore where Hello Kitty is dressed as a dragon princess. This is the only place in the world where Hello Kitty is dressed in a Japanese kimono. Hello Kitty herself comes by to greet you in person in one of the gallery areas as well as restaurants, according to the scheduled times. She will be delighted to take a photo together with you.
Awaji Island located in the Seto Inland Sea is a popular resort island in the Kansai area, easily accessible from any major destinations in Japan. It is only one hour from Osaka by car/public transportations.
In the new “Hello Kitty’s Strawberry Afternoon Tea,” the chef has prepared nine different kinds of sweets that would fill your mouth with the taste of sweet strawberries, including “Strawberry Rare Cheese Cake Style,” which is a perfect match of rich cream cheese and strawberry acidity, “Strawberry Gratin,” which is an irresistible combination of rich custard with a smooth texture in a browned dough, and “Strawberry Mini Roll Cakes,” which are fluffy sponge cake filled with sweet strawberry cream. Each sweet plate is topped with a Hello Kitty pick dressed in an Otohime (dragon princess) costume and Hello Kitty chocolates, creating a colorful and cute afternoon tea experience.
