Auberge "French Forest" is a collection of French-style cottages containing restaurants and guest rooms. Surrounded by the lush forests of Awaji Island, this fairytale-like location is a refuge of peace and tranquility. Each of the three cottages hosts French restaurants that offer their own fusion twist using local ingredients from Awaji Island.
The three restaurants are: "La Rose," "Grand Baobab," and "Prince Etoile." On the second level of each auberge are guest rooms available for overnight stays. Stays include dinner in the evening and a breakfast of the chef's specialties in the morning, ensuring a relaxing and luxurious stay. Overnight stays are not required for dinner reservations.
* One of the restaurants, Prince Etoile, is closed as of August 31. It is planned to be opened with a new concept within this year. Two other restaurants, La Rose and Grand Baobab are in operation.
La Rose
"La Rose" is a French restaurant that offers a fusion of Japanese and French cuisine. The full-course menu features dishes that bring out the best of Awaji Island’s seasonal ingredients, including freshly caught seafood and farm-grown vegetables. Pair your meal with the perfect wine carefully selected by the knowledgeable sommeliers.
For both lunch and dinner, there are three types of full-course meals to choose from: the casual meal, the standard meal, and the luxurious special meal.
Grand Baobab
"Grand Baobab" offers a marriage of Italian and French cuisine. Inspired by the Italian culinary philosophy of simplicity and high-quality ingredients, this restaurant presents French cuisine that makes the most of Awaji Island’s natural abundance.
For both lunch and dinner, there are three types of full-course meals to choose from: the casual meal, the standard meal, and the luxurious special meal.
Accommodation
Guest rooms are located on the second floor of the three auberges. The comfy and elegant décor mimics that of a French manor house. After checking in, enjoy dinner in one of the two French cuisine dining rooms. Afterwards, enjoy a relaxing evening in your room, tucked away within the quiet nature of Awaji Island.
In the morning, wake up refreshed to the sound of birds chirping in the forest. A breakfast of the chef's carefully selected specialties, including egg dishes, salads, and beverages, will be served.
Please note that dinner and breakfast are included with your stay. It is not possible to opt out of meals for an overnight stay. Check-in is from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm; check-out is by 10:30 am.
