From August 1st to August 31st, 2025, the summer-only “Fig Fair” will be held at the commercial complex “Nojima Scola”, which is a renovated former elementary school on Awaji Island, where food, drinks, and products that use Awaji Island’s summer flavor “Figs” will be available.

Summer Limited “Fig Fair”
Café Scola serves “Fig Soda”, a refreshing drink perfect for hot summer days, made with homemade sweet ripe fig jam and carbonated soda. “Fig Jam Panna Cotta” is also available, which is melt-in-your-mouth panna cotta topped with sweet and sour fig jam. “Fig Mojito Soda” is a non-alcoholic cocktail that goes perfectly with refreshing mojito and fig jam.

“Nojima Bakery” sells “Fig and Gorgonzola Pizza”, a sweet and salty masterpiece with an addictive combination of sweet figs from Awaji Island, rich gorgonzola cheese, and rich honey. “Fig d’Anoise”, which is made by squeezing almond cream and custard onto Danish pastry and topping it with figs, will be on sale. “Fig and Cream Cheese Boule” made with figs and cream cheese stewed in Western liquor will be on sale.

“Ristorante Scola” offers “Fig Fruit Tea”, a luxurious tea drink that uses confiture made by slowly stewing figs from Awaji Island with sugar. You can enjoy the soft fig scent and gentle sweetness. “Nojima Marche” sells seasonal figs from Awaji Island. It is recommended as a souvenir as a summer taste of Awaji Island.

Nojima Scuola is a multifaceted complex comprising a café, a restaurant, a small zoo, and a marché (market), located within the former Nojima Elementary School. It is a pet-friendly establishment offering the unique amenity of an expansive dog run complete with a dog walk and agility-promoting playthings exclusively designed for dogs.
